First Look: Nike Adapt 2.0

Nike is known for pushing boundaries and let me be the first to say, here we go again! It all started with the Nike Air Mag. This futuristic giant ushered in an actual era of “self-lacing” shoes.  We were nothing short of amazed when we first saw the Hyper Adapt 1.0 in late 2016. Nike then took it one step further and made a more affordable basketball version of that trainer. The Nike Adapt bb was born. It stumbled at first but eventually became polished and worked all of the bugs out of the software.  Next we saw the Adapt Huarache in the 3rd quarter of 2019. Now that we got the history lesson out of the way, let’s get into the meat and potatoes as they say.

Queue the Nike Adapt BB 2.0. This time ditching the top of the cover to expose the cables of the Adaptive Fit system. Not to be confused with the Adapt BB, the Adapt BB 2.0 still makes use of  a black shroud but shows off many unique features. A nicely done glossy black heel and foot specific logos are seen on the tongues pull tabs.  Secondly I’ve noticed the use of Zoom Turbo cushioning at the forefoot. The buttons used to tighten and loosen the shoe are still located in that familiar place on the lateral side of the midsole.

An official release date has not been revealed but what I can tell you is that the original Adapt BB released on the same day as the all-star game last year. Stay tuned for breaking news. Keep your manual game strong just in case Nike is up to their old tricks.
