Sneakerhead Spotlight: David AKA @⁦sowhydavid

Boston Celtics Sneakers

Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?

David: Kind of hard to say because I’m a bit chaotic. I keep a good 60+ pairs in rotation so I can just wear what I’m feeling and swap a good portion from my storage locker every season. Despite all of the heat, I wear Huaraches the most. They are my favorite model of all time and I wear them on the regular for errands and the gym. Even more so now since I mostly work from home. Here’s the Huaraches I have by the door at the moment:

•LT British Tan / TM Best Grey

•Escape

•Scream Green

•Stussy Olive Green

•Aquatone

•Bright Mango

•HyperLocal London

•Orca

Question 2: What's the last pair you UNDS'd?

David: New Balance 998 Premier. Took me a while to find them at a good price. Premier is my favorite boutique and they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?

David: SB Dunk Low Homer. I snagged them at a great bargain. I thought I was purchasing a used pair from Sole Supremacy’s eBay auctions and it ended up deadstock when I got them in hand. Bless Sole Supremacy forever.

Question 4: What is your must-have grail?

David: Nike Zoom Dunk High Coraline. I love Laika films. They are something rare in the film industry; just pure artistry. I pulled the trigger at Flightclub late last year only to find out the seller was trying to move a used pair as deadstock. The 5% discount offer left a bitter taste so the search continues.

Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?

David: I started collecting shortly after I quit smoking cigarettes. A friend from a pin collecting group got me into the hobby and it snowballed from there.

Question 6: What's something that most people don't know about you?

David: I love watching movies, even bad ones. I try to go to the theatres once a week with my friends thanks to AMC Stubs A-List. I’ve never walked out on a movie before. It’s crazy to think people would do that. Even stayed to watch all of Avatar the Last Airbender. Opening night; everyone took out their phones to tell people not to watch the movie. It got to the point where employees turned on the lights while the movie was playing. Regal UA Kaufman Astoria. Wild times.

Question 7 (optional): What do you do for a living?

David: I work in the advertising field; specifically in Platform Operations. It’s a lot of work but I enjoy it a lot.

Question 8: Where can people follow you on social media? YT, Snapchat, IG etc

David: I only use Twitter @sowhydavid. If Twitter dies, I’m not sure where I’d hop to but that’s a future problem. Heh.
