Sneakerhead Spotlight: Nic AKA @airmaxtrin
Question 1: What’s in your current sneaker rotation?
Nic 1: Honestly I don’t have a rotation per se, I kind of just wake up feeling like wearing something and I might grab it. It’s been rough working from home the last couple years so recently I’ve been on a mission to UNDS as much as possible. Here is what my last week or so looked like.

Question 2: What's the last pair you UNDS'd?
Nic: Air Max 1 Ugly Duckling Ceramic from the UPS truck to feet in less than 24 hours!
Question 3: What is your fave sneaker you currently own?
Nic: My all-time favorite sneaker is the AM 95 OG. Ive copped it like 4 times since 99. Sometimes I just be staring at my pair like I’m 13 again lol. I LOVE that shoe but since then been tied with the Atmos Elephant Print AM1 it used to be a grail till I got a pair in 2017. Its hard to pick a favorite child, right?
Question 4: What is your must-have grail?
Nic: Currently the grail for me has to be the Air Max 1 Patta 5th Anniversary Denim.
Ive been drooling over that shoe for years. They just pretty old now and chances are if I ever get a pair DS at a good price that midsole will face that Thanos Snap immediately.
I really hope they retro and the guys at Patta send me a pair joking (unless they want to). But yea I’ll buy like 3 pairs but yea send me one please haha.
Question 5: What got you started in the sneaker game?
Nic: Ive been collecting sneakers it seems like forever. But that AM 95 when the OG dropped in 95 I was like 12 or 13 and I was OBSESSED. Even though I didn’t get to own a pair till 99 using summer job money. It kickstarted my obsession with sneakers and getting fresh. It didn’t matter what it was either if I thought it was dope and could pull a fit off I’d wear it. Once I got out of high school I got a job at IKEA in Elizabeth, NJ and they just happened to be like less than 5 min from the Nike Outlet that had just opened. Needless to say, most of my checks went toward copping kicks, 20 years later I never stopped.
Question 6: What's something that most people don't know about you?
Nic: I’m a kind of a super geek. Video Games, Wrestling, Comic, Movies, Anime and especially Hip Hop. I really still geek out about all the things that I used geek out about as a kid I don’t think it’s ever going to stop.
I go to NY Comic Con every year, now I don’t cosplay but maybe once I drop these pandemic pounds, I might dress up next year as a mashup of Miles Morales meets an OG Ralph Lauren Polo head wearing the Ghostface Killah Eagle lol.
Question 7 (optional): What do you do for a living?
Nic: I’m an Audio Engineer. Been producing music under name Trinidad since college and eventually decided to turn audio into my career. I also am a standup comedian and podcaster (TJSquared Podcast).
